Grammy Longlisted + a Giveaway!

Hey Reader,

Can you believe we are already in December? Time certainly flies! I just wanted to share a quick update and to hear from you. I’ve been quite busy promoting my album Wedding Invitation, which I’m thrilled to announce has been longlisted for a Grammy! 🎉 While I didn’t make the final nomination cut, the recognition means so much to me and the broader world of poetry.

When I wrote those poems for the album in my room during the global lockdown and recorded them right there at home, I had no idea regarding the far-reaching extent of the album. I know I felt almost compelled to write those poems but I never, ever thought about the album even being considered for a Grammy. I want to thank you for your support and to encourage you to keep pursuing your endeavors. We know we don’t pursue our goals for awards – even though it’s nice to be recognized – we pursue our passions because we are called to do so.

Still, this achievement is not just a personal milestone, but a recognition of the value of poetry and music. It shows that words, when combined with sound, have the ability to reach and resonate with so many people—and that’s something I’m incredibly proud to be a part of.

Over the past few months, I’ve been promoting the album on stage and connecting with others face-to-face. It has been a wonderful experience to share a project that came out of mandated isolation in person with others. I’m grateful to everyone for your support and the stories we shared in person and via social media.

This Grammy longlist recognition serves as a reminder of how important it is to keep pushing the boundaries of what poetry can do. I’m so proud that this project is part of that conversation. But none of this would be possible without you—your support and encouragement mean everything to me.

Thank you for being a part of this journey! Don't forget to grab the giveaway below.

Until next time, be good to yourself and others.

Love,

Majeeda

I am making each of these poems available as singles...
